Pentridge Community Garden
powered by TidyHQWelcome to Pentridge Community Garden
Pentridge Community Garden is a large community garden located within the historic Pentridge Prison precinct in Coburg, in Melbourne's inner north.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land that the garden rests on, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and pay our respects to their elders. We also thank Shayher Group, the developers of the Pentridge precinct, who have set aside the garden site for use as an urban garden.
Pentridge is different to most community gardens. Our emphasis is on communal gardening, in which members plant and maintain the garden together and share the produce. It’s a lovely way to meet neighbours and friends and there is always something tasty to harvest.
New members are always welcome and there are lots of ways to get involved: Memberships
Garden Open Times The garden is open on Sunday to gather as a group from 10am to 1 pm in summer and 1 pm to 3 pm in winter. The change roughly coincides with daylight saving changes. Notification is done on our facebook page. Members can of course come to the garden at any time by themselves or with other members.
Starting from Sunday 3rd of November 2024 hours will be 10 am to 1 pm.
